ON-LINE HISTORY CLASSES
ON LINE STUDY GROUP IN AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE AND HISTORY
We
develop and facilitate "on line" African American Culture and History
Study Groups. The on line workshops are interactive and offer a
wonderful opportunity for educators, families and concerned community
groups to receive materials and resources to use for private study
opportunities.
The study groups can be done as special interest
segments or chronologically beginning with the African past to the age of Obama. Below are samples of classes that will
be offered in the fall of 2009:
African American History from Africa to 1865
African American History from 1866 to 1979
African American History from 1980 to 2009

History of the Black Church in America
History of the Black Family in America
The Role of Women in African American History
A Survey of Black Literature During the Years of Slavery
A Survey of Literature from the Harlem Renaissance
The History of Slavery in America
A History of the Civil Rights Movement Part One and Part Two
The Black Power Movement In America
and others.....
Classes
are taught on line in the evening. The only tool needed is a computer
with Internet access. Materials such as lesson plans, charts, historical documents, historical images and other materials will be given to participants as part of their tuition. Classes are conducted over a 12 week period,
meeting once a week for 1-1/2 hours. The cost of a twelve week session
which includes materials is $150.00. Participants can participate for
6 weeks for $100 which also includes materials.
The workshops are designed for students, educators, parents, community leaders and history buffs.
Classes can also be done as on site workshops.
